Start-up Brisbane

Digital Brisbane is committed to supporting Brisbane’s budding digital entrepreneurs through a range of digital start-up kickstart programs.

These programs will foster Brisbane’s burgeoning tech start-up sector.

Tech start-ups are companies which have relatively low entry costs, but can catapult into the global market and create hundreds of millions of dollars of value.

Brisbane has already had a number of success stories such as games developer Halfbrick (the maker of Fruit Ninja) and music discovery service We Are Hunted, which has been acquired by Twitter.

The city is home to many other growing companies, and at Digital Brisbane it is our aim to see more of them flourish.

Digital Brisbane Start-up programs include:

  • Lord Mayor’s Budding Entrepreneurs Program which aims to encourage promising entrepreneurs and identify the next big Brisbane tech start-up.

  • Visiting Entrepreneurs Program is linking Brisbane’s start-ups with successful, international role models for pitch coaching sessions, workshops and other events.

  • CoderDojo Brisbane is part of a world-wide movement helping school-aged children learn how to code, develop apps and build websites.
