The Lab is currently exploring challenges in the areas of:
- First and last mile transport options
- Circular economy opportunities
- Reducing social isolation & exclusion
How might we enhance first and last mile connectivity in the Upper Mount Gravatt, Eight Mile Plains Precinct?
Why is this a challenge?
To maximise potential growth of the precinct and fully harness the opportunity provided by Brisbane Metro, a diverse range of mobility options is needed, particularly for first and last-mile connectivity.
What are the benefits to stakeholders?
Longer-term benefits include improved access to workers, greater mobility and a more-integrated, better-connected precinct.
Immediate benefits include cementing of stakeholder relationships, building collaborative investment and growing the influence and reach of the precinct network.
What are the benefits to wider Brisbane?
Upper Mt Gravatt / Eight Mile Plains is not alone in facing connectivity challenges. The findings from the Lab can inform the approach in other precincts to boost the catalytic impacts of major new transport infrastructure investment.
